For medical reasons some children may need their required diet, so just let me know.
Having a school-wide rice lunch day fits in really well with Thinking of our global community and Lent.

Hi Parents.
It's week 8 already! Hopefully you have all had a lovely weekend and your children are ready for some great learning as we head towards the end of the Term.
Here we go...
*Testing - this week I will test the children's reading levels. This means that they may not have read their book with me prior to bringing it home. Please support them by discussing the cover, walking through the book and checking comprehension at the end by asking them some questions about the story.
If you are concerned your child is not where they should be, reading is the best way to become a better reader.
*RE - this week the childrens RE books will come home. Please go through the books and discuss the contents with your child. Incomplete worksheets indicate times when your child was absent from the lesson.
*Portfolios - We have a few assessments for portfolios to get through before the end of the term, so the children will be busy bees this week. These Portfolios will be sent home in Term 2 and are a great record of your child's learning at school.
Maths
Most of the children are doing maths practice at home on the maths websites from our blog. That's so great to hear- thank you for your support in this!An awesome maths website is Maths-Whizz.
The middle school has funding to use this site, but if you go to:
http://www.whizz.com/
you can trial it for free!
It is:
- The alternative to a private tutor in maths.
- Caters to your child’s needs.
- Builds confidence, enjoyment and ability.
- Used by thousands of parents and schools worldwide
A huge thank you to Cherie Overbeay, Destin's mum, who comes in every Monday afternoon to return all of the reading books our class takes home to read each week. This is a very time consuming job, so I really appreciate your help Cherie :)
Could you please have another hunt around the house for reading books. Many books haven't come back to school this term, and the book shelves in the resource room are looking a bit bare.
Reminders
No hat, no play.
Later eating times for morning tea and lunch again this week.
Have a blessed week.
Eliana
