Hi Parents
We were very blessed with the large number of grandparents and grandfriends who were able to join us for Mass, morning tea and the outside concert on Friday. The children really enjoyed spending time with them. It was a lovely day.
See the photos below.
Unfortunately a grandparent misplaced her camera with precious photos on it. Someone may have picked up the camera thinking it was theirs. Can you please check to see if it has ended up with your things, as the owner would love to get her camera and photos back!

Testing
I am almost finished! I have 6 running records (reading tests) and 6 JAM
tests (junior assessment of maths) to go. On Wednesday I have release, so while
a reliever is in I will complete these. The children have been very considerate during testing time by working quietly and independently on the tasks
set. They are wonderful!
Reading
Please keep up the home reading as we head into the final weeks of the
year. It is really important that we keep the momentum going and make the
most of the time that is left.
Class poem recital
Last week the children began learning a poem to present to the class.
This should be glued into their homework book. During reading the
children will spend some time learning the poem off by heart, practice
using expression, volume and hand gestures. The top 2 children will recite their poem at school assembly next Friday, as our class is hosting it.
Kapa Haka
Mrs Dunkley and Matua Koro announced the final Te
Ahurei group last week. Some very difficult choices had to be made in
order to select 55 performers from 120 children! If your child was not
selected this year, please don't be discouraged. They have another 4 years of
St Marys Kapa Haka performances ahead of them.
Congratulations to Sterling, Caitlyn and Savannah
who were selected. With only 1 week until the Ahurei, Kapa haka
will be focused on the performance group.
Families will need to purchase their Ahurei tickets through the
school office by this Thursday. Tickets are $6 and late orders cannot be accepted.
Assembly
Our class is hosting assembly next Friday 20th November at 2pm.
Have a lovely week.
Eliana.
