Welcome to another week in Room 9.
This week we prepare for the most important time on the Christian calendar - Easter.
The season of Lent starts on Ash Wednesday and continues until Easter.
This week we think about how we can show God's love to others during Lent and beyond. We write a promise to God and these are burnt during the promise ceremony on Tuesday.
The smoke is a sign of our promises going to God. The burnt ashes will be cooled and form a cross on our foreheads during the Ash Wednesday ceremony.

Reading
Thank you for reading with your child every night and filling in their reading log. I really appreciate the time you have taken to write comments on these to let me know how your child is getting on with their reading at home.
Your child may not want to read or do their homework as soon as they get home, as they have had a busy day at school.
If this is the case, you could try getting them to read later in the evening.
Please make it a fun and special time together!
Spelling
Spelling homework starts this week.
Your child will glue 5 words into their Homework book based on the Essential Spelling List test we had.
If they get any wrong when they are tested on Friday, they will get the same words to learn the following week.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD BRINGS THEIR HOMEWORK BOOK TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY.
School Gala
The Gala countdown is on!
If you are able to bring in any of the daily items on the list handed out, it would be very much appreciated.
Have a great week.
Eliana
